The thing i like to do is watch a good film, It`s the only reason i turn the tv on (Apart from TOP GEAR). So i thought i`d list some of my favourites and see if you guys can help me find some good ones to watch that i may not have seen.

1-The Bournes (all three)
Bond has nothing on this guy, plus it made Moby-Extreme ways
an all time favoute track of mine
2-Die Hards (all three)
again, enuf said by the name. yippie-ka-yah
3-The usual suspects
Superb plot twist
4-Fight club
The first rule is......................(so i can`t say any more)
5-Snatch / Lock Stock and two smoking Barrels
These are classics, the puns are hilarious.
6-Alien films
Ridley scott is a genious
7-The ring,
The only movie to truly scare me upon watching it.

have loads of favourite films but these stand out above the rest

not all are my favourites but some are just classics

braveheart i know but i just like it
lock stock and snatch just brill
indiana jones series
star wars but only originals
platoon classic
saving private ryan classic and really life like

could go on and on but will leave it at that for now

I'll mix it up a bit and try to avoid the obvious.

1) Blue Velvet (1986)-thriller
David Lynch film.Dennis Hopper plays a crazy psychopath to perfection.

2) The Straight Story (1999)-feel good movie
Another David Lynch film (my favourite director) but completely the other end of the scale to the movie above. Old man drives his tractor across America to be with his dying brother. Watch & weep.

3) Fargo (1996)-thriller
Coen Brothers film. Steve Buscemi is hired to kill the wife of William H Macey. Macey's finest performance. Sit & squirm with him as he digs himself deeper and deeper into the ****.

4) Sexy Beast (2000)-crime drama
Ray Winstone is fetched from retirement to perform one last job by hypnotic nutjob Don Logan, played by Ben Kingsley. It's hard to believe that this is the same man that played Ghandi!

5) Kes (1969)-drama
Ken Loach film. Gritty Northern Drama. Included because your from up north and if you're not aware of this film already then you should be. Brian Glover steals the show for me with his bullying sportsmaster routine.

6) The Pianist (2002)-war drama
Equally dramatic and horrific. If the sight of a wheelchair-bound old man being dropped from a balcony by nazis doesn't move you, nothing will.

7) This is England (2006)-drama
Another 'up north' must see. Best performance i've ever seen from a kid. Bullied youth is taken under the wing of some skinheads. Modern coming of age flick.

Cool

Once upon a time in the West (1969)-Western
Henry Fonda plays a ruthless bandit who is hunted down by Charles Bronson. The best stand off you will see at the end of the film.

9)Zoolander (2001)-Comedy
Ben Stiller plays a clueless fashion model who is brainwashed to kill the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Funny as feck and a great cameo role by Will Ferrell as fashion extremist Mugatu.

10)Shaun of the Dead (2004) comedy horror
Zombies! gotta have some zombies!

Connery and Caine classic..

2. True Romance..
First and most awesome of the tarrantino films. with that great quote....

aw yea DG, The Man Who Would Be King is a ripping yarn of curious resonance, Kipling innit?

I would like to mention The Shining, Kubrick's horror and alienation take,
Koyaanisquatsi, a dialogue-free zone of wonder and dread,
The Time Bandits which knocks CGI baloney Harry Potter into a crap hat,
Pale Rider just beats your brain up with the human condition,
Laurel & Hardy crack me up Smile

Films for a good watch ....

May be repeating some but i personally recommend the following...

The Breakfast Club
Empire Records
Grosse Point Blank
Oceans 11 - Original
Oceans 11, 12, 13 - first for plot, 2nd for the 'revea', 3rd ,again plot and the cameo of Al Pacino
Twister - I'm just nutty enough to go do it myself (not be a twister, i mean storm chasing)
Dogma - Any Film directed by Kevin Smith (Clerks, Clerks II, Mall Rats, Chasing Amy, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back)
Hi Fidelity - Mostly for the music, but good jokes
Evolution - because i too use head and shoulders
St Elmos Fire
