|
|
as i suggested at a bottom of a post in another thread
"im guessing as theres only 3 of us, we should just select a certain team and see who can achieve more after so many seasons"
im gonna put forward some teams which i believe to have an element of challenge/could be intresting.
Leeds utd - high expectations, squad is acually pretty average -15 ponts
Notts forest - same as leeds but start with 0 points, and have been at this level for longer thus teams bit worse i guess
Bradford City - may not be as prestigious as leeds/forest but this is an ex epl team in L2 (as is Swindon Town)
Darlington - the team that was destined to follow in wigans footsteps, but the owners ended up err, i cant remember lol but they got a 25000 stadium but no money....
Queens Park (scotland) - this team is an ametuer team, amatuer teams in this game dont spend money, and dont recieve money for players, so when windows open you kinda praying that ya players dont leave for other clubs. quite a huge turn over of players
PSG - a big french team in my mind, recent years no glory.
Derby - can you actually do the near imposible and save them from the drop? if you do can you survive the following season?
choose 1 or suggest some others?
------------
aim to get our first team challnge sorted for the weekend. _________________

I always like to have a go at Coventry but after 2 seasons of finishing 20th of 24 and then Jawz PM'ing me his success with them after 1 season (semi final of league cup,multi-million pound turnover, squad full of mystery eastern europeans),i realise i'm out of my depth.
The fact that data editors,'potential ability' programs etc are freely available,i just wouldn't trust anyone not to bend the rules in a competetive environment.
That said,if your happy to let me find my feet with my Coventry side while your posting up your screenshots of European Cup wins managing
Darlington or whatever then i'll try and match your successes im my own amateurish, ponderous way. |

ive never loaded up the editor.
i just use myself as a scout looking at various players such as bogdan stancu a player that will move to a league 1 club, could easily get in a premiership club 150K-250K price tag, scores lots quite a cheap wage.
Lauri Dalla Valle - 16 yr old, in real life liverpool and inter milan tried persuing him, will litterally move to any team on the game. always becomes very good
Esmir Sabic - another youngster whose is a must for any team.
if your a smaller team, i recomend checking the various amatuer clubs as you can sign the players there for nothing and most of em will move to you.
also as already mentioned, raiding eastern europe for players is good, get young cheap players wanting less wage then your players and are usually better than your players.
Romania i find has the best talent but its abit more pricier and wage demands seem higher. _________________

Just want to make clear i'm not in any way accusing you of anything.
In every version that comes out, after playing a few seasons with a few different teams, when you fire up a new game, theres a handful of players you can get for peanuts that always float to the top that you immediatey head for to give your team an early boost.
(remember Andrii Sigporrson,Tonton Mokouko,Cherno Samba,Lebohang Mokoena,V Hleb,Carlos Vela etc?)
but as this is my first run at this version,i havent found them yet.
Gimme 20 seasons with 3 or 4 teams and i'll be able to put together a team of world beaters together,at any team, within weeks, using a tiny budget |

USM rocled I remember winning the Premier league about ten times on the trot with Northampton and all my players having 99 for each area. Oh the days. The training was ridiculously easy in that game. _________________

yeah, and i also found a glittch in that game which made signing players easier. think i may of needed a patch or something?/? (im talking about USM <<<<here)
but i remember browsing the "seirra teletext" and clicking on players that had just moved and buying em for 0 and they would come, to any club i was. _________________

Patch came out middle of Feb i think.I'm running Version 8-0-2 i think.
Only bug i've found is the amount of goals going in from corners. My DC is getting nearly as many as my strikers.
Just re-read your post.Ignore me |

what youve noted about your defenders on 802 patch is correct, thats why im still playing on 801
Also there are various simple data errors on patch 802 which make me think it was a rushed patch. simple things such as something in Defoes transfer makes spurs super rich and ends up crippling pompey
also ive been made aware theres an error in the turkish leagues. _________________

weird/errors in patch 802
Another issue is that one **** programmer put in the wrong clause in Jermaine Defoe's transfer from Spurs to Portsmouth. So Portsmouth is paying a bonus fee "per league appearance" rather than "after league appearances". So Spurs get rich and Portsmouth get dirt poor for no good reason.
(if you attempt to play an old game that you started on a previous version)
Word is if you use it on an existing save game, that you can expect your players attributes to suddenly and pretty much permanently drop. People are reporting that years of training has gone out the window within "2 to 3 matches since installing the patch". No one has figured out why.
I heard the match engine improved, maybe even a bit too much. Lol, defenders score like 20+ goals from corners and every game seems to end 4-0, 5-0. This is what I'm reading on the SI games boards anyway.
Another simple data issue has popped up:
Issue - Galatasary & Fenerbahçe get into financial problems in Turkey.
Who will if affect - people playing with the Turkish league active.
Fix - You need to edit the teams affected (Galatasary & Fenerbahçe) average ticket price DOWN by £5 using the official editor, and start a new game.
EDIT . . also, it seems defenders are scoring like crazy off of corners and set pieces. I found a few screenshots of it:

I've got a good challenge for anyone with FM2005 with my team Notts County
expectations -> win league 2
squad -> "Will struggle to meet expectations"
finances -> -£498,036 + 0k tranfer budget with 30% of transfers + £4k left in wage budget
rather difficult to get any new players fit for playing in 1st season |
