I’m still not quite sure how that happened. I know the track was validates for one lap, for over 50 minute. That should have gave everyone plenty of time to finish (even shadow). Evil or Very Mad I must have saved over the 50 minute track with one that had a much faster lap time in order to get such a quick count down.

Sorry guys,

I would have caught you if i took the last corner perfect... i was going faster up the last hill, and it would have been almost even going in to the last corner on the last lap.

I should have got an easy 4th anyway, but i crashed when trying to turn the HUD off.

And when you validate the tracks, do you race the full 25 laps, or do 1 lap, stop half way round, alt + tab out of the game for about 30 minutes, then complete the lap?

Dont know how much time i lost, but i was looking at my keyboard, searching for the * button, then i look up again a few seconds later, and i had crashed on the section where two roads form a cross roads after the 2nd last corner at the bottom of the hill. So i think i lost 5+ seconds on the crash then going all the way up the long hill at the end, another 3+ seconds lost on someone who came out of the last corner clean...

I would also have done a lot better but I kept taking the crossroads (or, as Steve puts it, "the section where two roads form a cross roads after the 2nd last corner at the bottom of the hill") very gingerly because I kept having near misses with people crossing over (and not in a John Edward way) and just clipping a bit of bodywork at 430 kph can really screw your race up. Actually I did feel like I was about to catch Jawz as I had let him past after a little scrape on lap 23 and was agining about 2/10 a sector ... It's history now, of course ... buttawoulda

we validate for 1 lap... and yes get halfway round, press the windows key and do something else for a while Smile Thats why we don't race rounds any more..... much less work, and no false starts of course.

OK. Maybe not then.

It reminded me a bit of Brazil about 4 years ago when (I think) Fisi won after a huge pileup on the start finish line near the end of the race and everyone got their positons from where they were at when it was abandoned. So all's fair!
