With the Newcastle job up for grabs, the newspapers have all been going on about the Newcastle manager being the impossible job. Similarly the England position was also presented in this way.

So I was wondering what you guys thought was the hardest job in football?

Other possibilities include...

Liverpool manager (have to win league or you're going to be sacked within 5 years)
Man Utd manager after Ferguson retires
Leeds Utd manager - fans expect them to be a regular safe premiership team in a few years
Nott'm Forest manager - Same kind of expectations as Leeds, only a little lower since their glory days were a bit further in the past.
Brazil manager - It's a disappointment if you don't win the world cup with spoiled players like Ronaldinho and Ronaldo

i think Mark Hueghs will take the manchester job and actually do quite well.

the hardest job in football is being a referee Razz all that running around, and you never get a well done, good job. always get told to **** off or the crowd chanting the referees a wanker...

as for hard manager jobs.

Newcastle is the hardest by miles i think.

almost every playerr there needs to go.
there wages are far too high aswell, especially for what they are achieving.

I would actually sell owen, there highest paid player, his very injury prone, okay his good, if he ever gets back to full fitness, but there are still teams out there willing to pay 10 mill or so.

but if you start selling everybody those disillusioned goerdies are gonna start calling for your head.

reason being, they havent won anything in the last few seasons, i think in holland and your ajax the expectation is win or sack

and with only 2-4 teams realistically having a chance

Ajax
Psv
AZ

and maybe feyenord, thought they are getting worse and worse Razz

Holland in the 90s was looking bit scottish, in the 90s Razz with its few teams winning, or there abouts

though in scotland to stay in your job and not won the league as one of the big two you need to push all the way and finish close to your rivals.

Yeah, kinda true, though AZ is being worse than Feyenoord this season ^^ Last time AZ won the season was in '81 and any other team was '64 lol. The rest was all Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord

BTW: PSV FTW Very Happy

England job? with the bunch of players that only turn up for money and seem to forget about the playing football part

of course nothing beats newcastle with perhaps the exception of a few league 2(league 4) teams looking at regulation

It'd probably be the policemen(and women)...I wouldn't want to put in their position. Seriously, I was in a row (not taking part, but it was just outside entrance and we were there before we knew what was going on) during Feyenoord-Groningen last season. It's definately the scariest thing I've done as I had no idea where to run to when the police was charging us Laughing

P.S. This is also the reason why I think Henk Kessler should either have resigned or been fired. Calling policemen 'spoiled boys' is just stupid.

im a wigan athletic fan as ive said before

so ive been to some pretty daunting place ie millwall the old den, leeds, stoke, burnley, chelsea[cup] and i can seriously say ive seen it all

we was once going to millwall away on coaches and was escorted to and from the motorways by police conveys then locked in compounds so fans couldnt get at each other, then in the ground fans were throwing darts in the air to land on us , not very nice ,so yes the police dont have a nice job and neither do some of the fans either

but policing isnt really a job in football so i would give it to either the keepers or referees who recieve alot of stick

managers are under alot of pressure these days i agree but i wouldnt mind taking the stick they do if i got a couple of million a season as they do in the premiership these days

so probably the harder jobs youll find are in the lower leagues were money is tight but the job and expectations are just the same

remembers playground football, i used to either be a goalkeeper or the only defender Razz

being goalkeeper was annoying, youd make lotsa outstanding saves, but as soon as you conceeded one its like **** dude your uber ****...

defence plx? (same applies in real life i think...)

as for when i was defender, with no refereees on playground football, with me it was more kung fu football.

year 9 (us) vs 6th formers (them)

i loved kicking them to ****..tho being smaller than them, i got flung about....lol

i got nicknamed, vinnie, after vinnie jones ^_^

Worst job in football without a shadow of a doubt was being the cleaner at Wimbledon in the 1980's.

They weren't called the Crazy Gang for nothing.
