Well its approaching that time again..
GP Mad stylee
This week is technical POLE week with tight corners, technical slides, small gaps and wee hops, All designed to give FAST, FURIOUS and FANTASTIC ACCIDENTS. It's anyones race and this week I'm expecting an 85% finish ratio for both tracks....... It's hard to fall off a track that is completely flat and tight and twisty.
The tracks are
Bury GP by MMMBat
Casualty Carpark by Mad erm yep me again.
I named the track because it reminded me of a hospital carpark and not because at the end of the race I expect to see cars littering every corner on their roofs..... honest. |

It's quite a nice town really, but coming at it from the motorway ( M66 ) it is a depressing run in to the town centre from there ( as DaMaman probably found : ( )
If you look at it from Google/Winhoo's Live etc it's a very green area, with some lovely POV's.....oop's sound like an estate agent....lol
oh btw it's pronounced " Berry " _________________

I'll second most that. It sounds like an abandoned mining town surrounded by disused slag heaps and clog factories, but it is actually quite hilly and green with some fine victorian architecture.
However most of the people I know from there do actually pronouce it bury (with a softened u, like the 2nd "u" in autumn), and they pronounce the word curry "kyeurry" (or something phonetics doesn't cover). |

Colour codes can be found here. Basically you put $(three characters to represent colour) before the text you want to colour. This has to be your nickname.
And no, you don't have to if you don't want to. _________________

Time for the 1st of the race reports
Race 1 - Bury GP
1st into 1st checkpoint that was the highlight. saw putski slip off. (note to putski you could have got back onto the track). only just beat moldo but had a clean if not good race. I just couldnt keep to the racing line.
beat retoon good
beat moldo very good
beat bboy (who wasnt able to turn up) brilliant
heart stopping moment lap 14 (first jump right as far right as possible on the ramp and just kept all 4 wheels on the ramp).
3rd
Race 2 - Casualty Carpark GP
This should be renamed why i hate lag. bad 1st lap (one of only 2 non-lag caused mistakes).
laps 4-14
kept passing moldo then lagging into pole with no sign of retoon / dan
laps 15-22 ish
kept catching up with retoon about 2 seconds behind ... then the highly likely ... lag into pole. had 2nd mistake here just clipped pole not much lost.
lap 22 ish
very bad lap lost lots to lag over 2/3 laps
happy with 4th beat both moldo and bboy which is good
after beating moldo twice 2nd looks possible now
looking forward to next week
i also have replays for both tracks |

didnt enjoy either much
1st race
ended up flying off 1st ramp into start check point....
2nd race
too small, too flat, too many ppl...poles and right angles, no rythym could get going.
in these gps im so used to being on my own at the back rarely seeing a soul. |

race 1:
good start kept up with dant for around 5 laps then he got to fast for me. me and mc had a close race for around 8 laps then i messed up and didnt ake the jump where you go over the start line and i had to go back around, that put me back in 9th. from here i just raced my bast and i pulled back 6th.
race 2:
hit a few things first lap and from there mc was gone. was second for a whilw then dant was with me and we both kept crashing and taking each other. now back in 3rd i couldnt stay cleant o keep with dant and i wasnt sure where 4th was. last 2 laps i made clean and got my 3rd.
Maserati had a good week with some on Nismo not showing up and me beating voice in race 2. dodge had 2 strong finishes. good job Maserati |

2nd race......very busy at the start and hard for me to see the apex's never mind those bloody columns , anyway got into a bit of a rhythm...got lapped...hit a few walls...hit more columns but ended up 11th i think...
was a real pleasure to take part and can't wait till next week.
big thank you to all you guys who take time to put it alltogether.
good job boys. |

It was my first GP and I have to say I got quite lucky..
1st race:
I was 18th at the beginning because i hit walls with no reason. But then I found my rythm and was happy to see a one digit number out of 22 in lap 3. I finally reached voices who was a little behind retoon and dan (I was 4th then)
After 1 or 2 laps, he hit the wall twice in a row or so which threw him behind a few seconds. I thought "man, third is gonna be great for the first race" and I was just driving around lap for lap. Suddenly, I saw retoon in front of me. I overtook him but he came back and I stayed behind him for several laps not being able to driver faster than him. Then, he was gone o.O
Dan was 16secs in front of me at the end of the race.
But 2nd is awesome.
2nd race:
I had a very good start and was third after first lap. In second lap I was first already because everyone kept crashing into walls and pillars. I seemed to be the only one who didn't....
that's why I got 1st.
thx and GG to everyone |

Second GP-I ruined things right from the start by hitting the first pillar I came to. Had an uneventful race, save for the last couple of laps battling Mid.
First GP-I've saved this until after my report on the second because I'm still thinking of what might have been. Started first lap, was going well, must have been in the top 10. Second lap-cut the bend after the first corner too tight and crashed. Restarted for fun, then put the car into the building I'd crashed on earlier on about lap 10. _________________

1st race
Cautious start and moved upto 3rd by end of first lap, then sat behind moldo for a lap until he crashed badly, I then immediately crashd in sympathy and let toon past. Then I just had a very smooth uneventful race lapping people, no dramatic moments at all.
2nd race
Was slightly more confident in this one since I easily had the fastest lap and was able to drive consistently on it just before starting. However a few crashes early on put me back to 9th. I then started outstripping everyone and got back to 3 secs behind Mc but then started crashing again and saw toon pass me briefly every 5 laps. Considering how I drove, I was fortunate to get 2nd. At least I banzai'ed the last lap to pick up fastest race lap. _________________ It's not the winning, its the taking apart |

Well, I'm consistent ... Reasonable start (x2), do something stupid around lap 3 (x2), finish around 10th (x2). I think it was Bury GP that I was 3rd in, but didn't have enough speed for the jump so decided to reverse for a bit while EVERYONE passed me. Hahaha (I remember thinking). Still clawed back 8 positions or so. With 30-second laps an error costing 20 seconds or so is pretty terminal (especially when you're me).
Nice races though - another pair of good racing tracks. |
