Was just wondering (inspired by the title of http://www.shoreforums.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=105) whether it'd be cool idea to have one longer race sometime. 24 hours of Mad Laps would perhaps be a bit long, but an hour or so would be funny to see how people handle that Razz .
Any chance this could be organized somewhere in between seasons or on another day than saturday? ^^

I'd think so. Just have 999 laps of a minute or so with a time limit of 1 hour (or whatever time is seen as the best).

Like Moldo said, it has to be a track where enough people are capable of racing for a long time at a nice speed.

Hehe, 24 hours would be a bit long (I'm not even sure if the mad laps servers are on 24/7? Razz )

And you have to realize this retoon...it can be quite frustrating to race about 2 seconds behind me for 24 hours Razz .

It would be possible to do 1 hour of racing.

The format would have to be laps, i think, someone makes and validates a track for obout 1 hour 30 mins, or less if a faster person is validating it Razz Then at the 1 hour mark, someone takes a printscreen of the scoreboard.

Its a good idea, and it could be the last race of the GP series. If two people could still win, (Dant and Moldo) then it would be really competitve, and a great end to the series.

Maybe in the style of Le Mans one car two drivers, one driver doing one hour they're buddy/team-mate doing the next hour?

How would you do that Dutchy? (No, I'm not going to travel to England just to replace one of you guys behind the PC Razz )

One option would be to do 2 'heats' and let people start x-seconds their buddy was behind number one. But in case someone like Bboy races the first heat we could have to wait a few minutes before others get to race Razz .

I'd be up for it in Island. Not sure about Stadium, it doesn't have the right feel for this kind of thing in my opinion. Obviously an Island race would mean United, which cuts the entry list significantly as not all of us have it. I'd like a United world tour series, seven races, one in each environment (yes, even the rubbishy TMO ones) and a gruelling distance to cover.

Some maths for you:

Longest track ever + no restarts from last checkpoint in Nations + 5 laps = <1 finisher.
