As I said on the ideas tank thread might be an idea if we have a longer gap between GP seasons this time to keep the lustre on the old trophy. So I've had another cracking idea and it's one that doesn't rely on poor Dan doing all the graft Very Happy how's about a race series based on 10 lap races on current tracks all skins are touring cars or similar, teams of two. And before anyone moans I am contemplating success penalties for those who run away with the series like they do in proper touring cars Laughing

What do you reckon ???

Very good idea! Keep the scoring like they do in real life! Not sure about penalising rearing it's head again but if we keep it tight to the BTCC then it should result in some good stuff!

Great idea, how many touring cars are on carpark though? I'll have a look on there at some point myself.

Sounds like fun and after a quick look at carpark there's plenty of wtcc, ausie V8's and DTM cars ready for use.

Had a quick gander and depending on how popular such an event would be thought we could make it the following cars

BMW
Mercedes
Audi
Volvo (for StevieM)
Alfa Romeo
Vauxhall (or Opel for ze Germans)
Ford
Honda

I reckon we need to limit the amount of cars available or everyone will turn up in different motors with different skins and it'll look shocking. If we get more than say 14 people two teams can drive Beemers as long as they are skinned differently.

I thought it might be more sense to draw the teams like we did for the FA Cup tournament, should make for more even competition that way. Once teams are decided you can download the motor and skin it yourselves or ask someone else who is good at that stuff to do it for you.

Crosses fingers and hopes to get Audi in the draw cos I've already downloaded and skinned one in preparation.

I was thinking we could use the BTCC tracks that are already made on TMX, brands hatch..croft...silverstone..thruxton etc etc

Think it might be cool to use a few maps we already know, and then throw in a few newly designed ones!

Well Stevie if you want to drive round in your mums car by all means we'll make you Volvo. Very Happy

Unless of course Dan wants to be Volvo as he is Mad Laps most famous Volvo owner.

Baino is right two northerners on the same team simply won't work, they'll be asking each other for a fight, then getting drunk then hugging each other and saying I love you.

No wait that's the Scottish Shocked

I was having a look on TM Car Park last night and I have found some decent touring cars we can use so I propose the following manufacturers and models which you can skin in whatever diabolical colour schemes you want. I'll set up another thread for sign ups to the Mad Touring Car Championship to be known from now on as the MTCC Wink

Audi RS4 http://www.trackmania-carpark.com/skin.php?id=7808
Alfa Romeo 156 http://www.trackmania-carpark.com/skin.php?id=7247
BMW 3 Series http://www.trackmania-carpark.com/skin.php?id=7309 see who posted it Laughing
Opel Vectra http://www.trackmania-carpark.com/skin.php?id=1816
Volvo (Stevies car)
Seat Leon GT http://www.trackmania-carpark.com/skin.php?id=5387
Peugeot 407 http://www.trackmania-carpark.com/skin.php?id=3649

That should be enough cars for the amount of teams we expect to get, we can always double up on beemers and audis as long as we skin them differently.
