Okie Dokes, So shortly we're going to have a new Pro sever which is gonna be great but perhaps we should be thinking of what could if anything be done with the other two servers. Points does ok some nights it can be busy and with the recent breakdown of Pro it has been used a lot more but on other nights if you see more than two people your very lucky. Challenge on the other hand at the moment seems pointless nobody goes there and there doesn't seem to be any real reason to go there.
So what other servers do people like or features from other servers that we could look to implement. Maybe we could have track themes for a particular server or maybe new tracks could go on to one server and get voted on to Pro.
I'll start of and go controversial. How's about a Dirt Server Twisted Evil
Also I'm in agreement wit Mid I think points should be over two laps but as DTM says that does require that people support it by producing good tracks for it.
I hope the admins aren't offended by my post this isn't meant as a dig at the current running of the servers because I think we all understand you work damn hard a lot harder than you should have to for a computer game. So thanks greatly for your work. I just thought it might be nice to get a discussion going and see what people might like to happen. _________________ Mostly to be found in Forza Horizon 4 now.

I have to say that I was pleased when I went on Points and found it was back to one lap cos it makes the track change twice as fast If it was two laps then it would be nice if the point limit was reduced to keep the pace up...nothing worse than having to do a track you aren't keen on for longer than you really want to...
But I agree with you Baino, the secondary servers could use some re-branding and alteration. I'd personally like to see a sort of second PRO server but with higher ladder points...but this would probably be the thorn in the original's side...
Not sure about a dirt server...a lot of Mad Lappers aren't keen on it and there are a lot of others around.
Basically, PRO is the traditional ML, Points is for a laugh in the evening to get some lp, and Challenge is only really used on saturday night for solo cup now. What to do...? Good discussion |

Aye don't worry didn't think it would stand a chance but but had to start the ball rolling somehow.
Although it might give our track builders a chance to hone there skills without being slagged off every time a dirt track does appear like the GP a couple of weeks ago. _________________ Mostly to be found in Forza Horizon 4 now.

Thing you'll find with dirt tracks Baino is a lot of folks don't like them because the racing is different, the cars handle differently and some folks just don't like it.
I'd be for more dirt tracks but not necessarily a server devoted to it. _________________

I don't mind a bit of dirt, or wouldn't if it was less buggy and felt faster. For me the real problem is the way dirt tracks tend to be built; on a lot of dirt servers I've seen long-winded tracks with high but slow jumps culminating in buggy landings. This kind of thing becomes boring over several rounds. Why don't I give it a go you ask? I did once upon a time. I still have Artificial Wetland and Mid was right, despite not being completely dirt it's still a bit "ho hum".
Challenge might as well only be started up at about quarter to eight on Saturday nights and shut down after the last "cannonball" 15 lapper. It's not getting used and Cup is basically a long and very tense Points event so it's much like the Points server. Actually, I think it runs in Time Attack most of the time doesn't it? TA doesn't do it for me, a few runs and you set your fastest time, then you try too hard and it all goes downhill.
Twisted Evil Baino? Aren't most of our tracks like that? _________________

Ooops should have been a smiley must have deleted a bit.
So anyway dirts not unexpectedly not going to happen but are there any other ideas out there what about a server for new tracks to get voted on to pro or a classics server that just runs old nations tracks with respawns turned off just like the gp. _________________ Mostly to be found in Forza Horizon 4 now.

Classics...we used to have that of course, and the result was a bit of a divide in the ML community. It used to be common to have tracks that, other than the fact that they dangled freely in the air, would be acceptable designs for real tracks. Once we started on Forever things got a bit crazy as builders went mental with the "wide" blocks. Now we're all used to them and use them in a more sparingly and carefully. Due to the increased number of blocks at our disposal and a change in who produces most of the tracks now, the style of the average ML track has changed. It would be far too sweeping a statement to say tracks are more stunt-based than they were but they are faster and I now find most tracks built for Forever far more interesting than the old ones. The mix is good though and now I'd never dream of dividing the collection.
Wow, that actually sounds quite artsy _________________

mini laps is not a bonkers idea however sorting out which of the 600 tracks lasts 30 seconds and which last a minute is not a job for the faint hearted... |

I'd be happy to take on that task if everybody would be happy. _________________ Mostly to be found in Forza Horizon 4 now.

I get days off during the week and it's better than sitting on the server waiting for someone to come along. _________________ Mostly to be found in Forza Horizon 4 now.

you'd need server admin then (pword Challenge and load tracks as required), or a zip off Mad with the entire tracklist and do it offline. _________________

Even If I did have admin rights I think sorting through the zip would be easiest unless with your experience of the server you think otherwise or it would be an excessively big file.
I have a day off tomorrow so could start it then. _________________ Mostly to be found in Forza Horizon 4 now.
