Mad laps FA Cup

Had an idea last night while dodging plates being thrown by the better half. Since we have a heap of teams how about a knockout tournament much along the lines of the FA cup. All the teams in the hat so we have 2 teams facing off over the best of 3 tracks, winner goes on to face the winners of the other ties until we have two left for the final.

Just a thought but would put up my teams if they were game Very Happy

I think that's a great idea but when? I was going to a couple of saturdays but you don't do saturdays.... I think.

the other option is after the end of the season.

Nice idea! Could also be possible with single drivers...but have to promote some sort of team oriented thing i suppose :S

Might be an idea to balance the teams with this idea.

I mean who wants to show up if they know they're going to get flattened?

We probably could make new teams for this drawn from the results of the mad laps 5 seasons. Least that way two elites couldn't get drawn together and get two team mates of varying skill, should make it more interesting and tighter that way.

Dunno if anyone is still fussed about this one but I had an idea which doesn't rely on using the line ups from the current season

MAD LAPS WORLD CUP 2009

Each nation has to submit a team of 3 drivers, two nations face off over 3 tracks in points mode best of 3 wins. The total accumulated points from each round are totted up to get the country who wins.

BTW for those who don't know Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland wouldn't be competing with England as each nation (other than possibly N.I) can field a team.

What you reckon muchachos?
