As you may have seen, i'm working on a grand theft auto style track. As you may also have seen, i cant work the media tracker to save my life!
I want to get the camera above the car to stay focused at a point a few metres ahead of the car so u can see where you are going whichever direct tion you travel across the stadium.
_____________
| . . . . . . . . . . . |
| . . . . . . . . . . . | o is the middle of the screen
| . . . . o . . . . . . |
| . . . . ^ . . . . . .| ^ is the car and direction it is facing
|____________|
and when the car turns left:
_____________
| . . . . . . . . . . . |
| . . . . . . . . . . . |
| . . . . o . < . . . | the car should effectively rotate
| . . . . . . . . . . . | around the camera which is focused on the centre
|____________| of the screen as the player turns.
Any advise on this would be greatly appreciated |

no, you must set the camera directly above the car else it doesn't track smoothly. The secret is getting it perfectly above centre..... |

there is too much logic involved in the camera angles in that clip. The closest you'll get is just to put the camera directly above the car looking down. I notice that their is no camera rotation in that shot so you'd have to turn it off. |

Getting the camera to stay just ahead of the car is likely to be an absolute nightmare, I'd stick to keeping the car central and zoom out enough to show the next corner. I've tried that and it worked nicely. Unfortunately, the track I built to test it on sucked so I deleted it and can't remember what I did to make the camera. _________________
