Hey all,
I have encountered a rather annoying problem.
I've setup a Steam account for my missus and bought TMUF for her. However, at no point were we given a TMUF Key to use so we can activate an account for her in-game.
The only Key we have is mine which is obviously no-go since it's tied up with my account at the moment.
Anyone have any ideas where we could retrieve the CD Key from? |

| would have thought that, as it's on Steam, you wouldn't need a key as it is automatically verified through them...? |

seeing as you bought it off steam, the people to go to to get your key would be erm,,,,,,,,, steam?

annoying but easy to solve 
Your account key is on your harddisk...open this file in wordpad....
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\trackmania united\Nadeo.ini
next to AccountKey=
The annoying thing is that TMUF keeps asking for it at all as it's hidden from you. I have to use it with the server accounts and I forget it every time. |

Ah ok thanks. Do you know if a CD Key generates itself when its installed on a particular hard drive?
I checked that file and the CD Key shows as the one for my own account, even if I've attempted to start the game on her account, the .ini doesn't change.
Should I install it on another computer to see if a CD-Key generates itself? |

Try installing TMNF, then registering it with the new code, i can`t see one game (i.e on 1 pc) accepting 2 cd codes as it only needs 1 cd to run.

Yeah I tried putting in my own key when I was trying to set up an account for her and it always said "This key is already subscribed".
I guess it stops one person buying the game and having 5 or 6 of his friends downloading the game and all of them using his code. I think Nadeo just want 1 code per online account.
Kinda sucks having to buy the game a second time to get a frigging code.  |

Wait... how many games have you got ? 1 or 2 ?
If you have only one TMUF, that's normal you only have on activation key.
If you have 2 version of TMUF and you have paid for that, you must have two different keys, that's not the point ?
In the launcher, configuration, you choose "use multiple profile" ? (maybe not the exact translation, i've the french version)
Then after starting the game : create a new profile, then create a new account, and after that it should ask you to enter your new activation key. |

Yep that's right, we've got 2 copies of the game and I've got the multiple profiles ticked.
If it generates a code for me to use on the 2nd account by installing it on another machine then I'll do that if it's that simple. The thing thats bothering me is that I could've sworn the activation key popped up on my screen when I bought TMUF in the first place.
Ah well, I'll get it eventually.  |

| I got my new PC about a month ago, installed TMU/F and needed a new key. I emailed Nadeo and got no reply so I emailed them every day for about 4 days. Heard nothing for three weeks and then last week I got four separate emails within about 3 minutes, each giving me my CD key. I think they might have been on holiday or have a backlog or something ... It's finally working now, but they did tell me I had to download it again from a specific location. I too have two installations, one on my laptop and one on the desktop, but I have only paid once. They'll give you extra keys if you ask them, they just don't want to leave it open-ended. |

Steam Support managed to get a 2nd key for me. What an unexpected surprise.
So "The Girl" has her own account now.  |

| I gave them the confirmation number from her purchase on Steam and they were able to give me a CDKey that way. |
