i could create one using pictures i guess rather than using a video and taking stills from it. jus be rather slow and somewhat limited to what i could do...i guess.

Both are great, the second more so than the first, but the thought that goes into them is incredible.
A slightly different type of stop frame animation is Pib and Pog, made by Aardman who did Wallace and Gromit. If you've not seen this before, trust me, it's not the pilot episode for a kid's TV series...
