I understand your positions here guys, but it's bit of a misunderstanding.
We're not even close to being a good TM clan. We're all around the same level, and we won't be winning any tournaments any time soon. No hides would be tanned when players like Stevie et al. are around.

Now, what we were going to do was ditch the clan tags altogether and create a fantasy team, exactly in the spirit of this league. I might not have played here in a while, but I remember what the GP season was for. Just three guys playing together for fun.

So, I can understand why you don't want clans playing, and I agree with that. However, we had no intention of entering as a clan. If you get my drift. I can understand you also wanting to prioritise regulars, and I agree with that also. Regulars deserve the spots.
I am scratching my head regarding barring Iffe, Revo and Voppe's team for being a clan entry though.

If they come on the server and they're a pretty balanced team they'll probably get to race together like March did last season but like Mid said we just need to avoid other clans seeing you boys on here and deciding this is the place to race the pG clan. If we call them team I.R.V then they aren't a pG clan team.

Well, as I said, that was our/their intention from the off. As such, the worries put down here are unjustified. Mid told me this when he replied to my PM weeks back and we were going to abide by his requests.

We're not good enough to have any rivals who'd be interested anyway Razz

Don't take it the wrong way, Munkhi. I remember our PMs and how I outlined how you should frame your application - playing down the clan connection and other guidelines in the spirit of the series. I didn't see much of that echoed in the signups thread however, it is all PG this and PG that, so I took this subject out for an airing and that's the way we get policy made and keep everybody satisfied. You're part of that now, be happy Smile

Yeah, a jumped gun by one of our guys seems to have caused this debacle. I was going to make a proper request in a few days, after getting a few faces recognised on the server (just like Ste posted).

Can we start confirming what rules etc we'll be using this season?

I'm talking about stuff like scoring, # of GP's, # of laps (seems like some tracks were too long for 25 laps last season) and that kinda thing.

Would be nice to have the rules stickied too so new and oldcomers can quickly see how everything works.

Normally we make this stuff up as we go along but if you want to be Mr Organised then so be it.

Scoring will be as it was last season, seemed to work well. No of GP's will be 16, 2 races per week. Laps remain as 25 unless we have a particularly long track where reducing to 15 is more sensible. Also if it is a particularly short track we could well go above 25 laps, we would need to see the tracks being submitted.

The first rule of mad laps is that we don't talk about mad laps Wink

As I'm pootling around at the back of the field this season I'm getting a new perspective on the points scoring.

How's about rather than only getting 1 point if you do 80% of the distance but don't finish, why not give half the points you would of got if you had done full distance. It's really annoying doing your best but making one mistake. Leading you to not manage the full distance but finishing higher than half the field but getting the same number of points i.e 1.

Hopefully next season if this suggestion is popular I won't need it either because I've got better, the tracks have become less challenging or the quality of the field has reduced (which certainly seems to be the best I've seen since I started the GP's).

Will half points for the position u finish in work? Once you crash, if the people behind you overtake where you crashed in the race, you won't stay in that position anyway??

no but if the only reason you've failed to finish is because you ran out of time you may have climbed into a very decent position but get 1 point similarly if you've been leading the entire race and crash with 2 gates to go you end up with 1 point not much reward for what might have been a landing bug knocking you out.

It's certainly something to consider for next season.

This season is proving very tough so far in my opinion. Evil tracks, plenty of quick drivers on track and tight battles virtually throughout the field. Long may it continue Twisted Evil .

Well it's certaily a idea if you can get the rest of the field to agree maybe.
After all this is an idea tank so all idea's are welcome.

Flippin Eck just leave the respawns on.......the fairest way imo

Good point sir fallofalot, but, i think no respawns are a better test of stamina and skill that makes this gp a grueling test of tm abilities.

I always loved the no respawns as i thought it good that the pro's would fall off and gift me a good finish.

But were 6 races down and i've had 3 DNF due to landing bugs and general bugs. I'm starting to go off the idea and fast.

The respawn issue is one that keeps popping up and this year I can understand completely. For this season I was handed a pack of excellent but very difficult tracks that I'm very pleased with, so thank you trackbuilders. If we don't tone down the difficulty for next season though, respawns on may be worth investigating.
