looks like your CPU is the star of the show - can't you beef up the GPU a little? It's getting sand kicked in its face 
price looks keen. Of course you tried clicking through our advertisers? The commission on such a large purchase would make you a Hero Of The Server, First Class

Hmmm.. its a tough tough call.
just checked out novatech and ariapc which offer great priced systems but prices exclude monitor etc so comparison is tough. The monitor is worth about £110 so pc price 550...
compares to this perhaps...
Entity Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2048mb DDR2 250GB SATAII HDD Dual Sli nVidia 8600GT 512MB PCI-E Graphics DVDRW
Which is £539 with vista excluding screen and has TWO 8600GT cards.....
thats Novatech - PC-1150 and if you bought one using a link from the forum it would be ace.
If however you have a screen already..... you could get a quad core and uprated graphics card without the monitor for the same price........... |

*update*
a friend has just given me a GeForce 8600GT 1GB
BUT: the motherboard on the PC i just showed you only has 1 PCI-E x16 port...
that PC sounds good mad, i'll have a look.
also: i could sell one of the dual graphics cards in mad's suggestion on ebay and put the 8600gt 1Gb in its place.
and last thing, is quad core really that good..? wouldn't dual core 3.00Ghz be better than 2.4 quad core

no quad cores are better full stop m8
try to get them to place in 2gb x2 sticks rather then 4 1gig sticks
the 1gb gpu should do you sufficently but there not world beaters
overall unless your pushing that system hard it should still do you proud m8

ps dont forget wot u buy today is worth nothing tomorrow in pcs so if your happy with the system and the price just buy it and dont worry about it later |

It's so sick and so true........
Average PC's are now soooo cheap and all the money is in the gaming extras and the operating system. The problem is with all the choice on the market getting the best system for your money at any given time is a bit like playing roullette..... I tend to stick to suppliers I can trust as the good suppliers do their homework on the the kit they sell. It sometimes limits your options but I have had too many duff machines to cut corners. |

i always try to start from the basic to be (sort off ) future proofed, like, an expensive mother board is gonna last longer than the cheaper (older) ones, then it can last whilst the other components, i.e, graphics,ram and cpu can be changed easily (without stripping the system (hopefully)), my next upgrade is a new mobo and cpu, which i find is quite ironic

I GOT THE PC! 
can run crysis at about 15 fps on mostly very high settings
trackmania maxed out @ 20 fps
UT 3 maxed out runs smoothly too.

i plan on getting the crysis demo to see what its like
full settings trackmania i can run at about 60fps on my system, i found it hard getting used to the full settings though lol |
