Had issues for ages, figured it was time to do more than just bleat about them on the server (like bleating about them here too!).
1. Regularly I seem to simply lag out of a server, what happens is that a can still drive around etc, but other cars and times stop moving/appearing.
It most frequently occurs when one track finishes, when the scoreboard should popup showing the results the game simply continues and often the timer starts for the next track while I'm still on the old one. However it does occasionally freeze during the middle of a track too.
This is NOT madlaps only, this occurs with every server as far as I can tell.
I have also tried halving the download and upload speeds via the TM launcher, but it seemed to have no effect.
BTW it doesn't always make me disconnect from the server, but when it does it just tells me the match was interrupted, returning to menu.
2. Probably related to 1, I found last night in particular that after I had lagged out of the Pro server, I had a lot of difficulty rejoining and it took a long time to join when I finally did.
3. People drive too fast, how can I sabotage their cars?
Any help would be much appreciated and I'll change my signature here to say something nice about you if you help! _________________ It's not the winning, its the taking apart |

Perhaps you're lacking a few patches !? I'm sure someone on here can give you a link...

I recognize the problems, had it too a while ago but solved itself.. probably just bad internet connection
By the way the third point you mentioned happens to me sometimes due to lag, especially in replays saved from online games, then the car was already driving in front of you but doesnt load until you've overtaken him, then the car shoots back to his position in front of you. _________________

Tried patching but it didn't have an effect in regards to solving the issues (hope this patch shows ppl behind you in laps mode).
Also tried avast, didn't play enough to see if it helped. It does popup a lot so I guess I need to configure it to ignore some stuff.
Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll try some more tomorrow _________________ It's not the winning, its the taking apart |

Dantski, not sure if you run through steam, but the only way i got the lap times etc up was to re-install Steam and TM, i now have all the right timers etc. The steam patch seemed to be bugged.
As for starting late, well cant say much there as i blew up my good pc and have to use this one, which makes a sinclair machine look positively modern.
Maybe that will help, maybe not - but hey its an idea. _________________ A Thirst for knowledge should never be quenched |

seems there's always someone with this 'ghost' problem at any time. I've had it, Dan's had it, Bboy's got the t-shirt, etc etc most frustrating
However it clears up just like herpes (often I suspect local/district interwebs hardware engineering stuff). _________________

umm
in my TMUF folder there;s a Game FidCache which is a GBX file, there's also a LightmapsCache folder which contains Common/Nations and United folders
ahh just found what I think you meant on this path
C:/ProgramData/Trackmania/Cache/
163 MB and mostly contains locators and jpeg stuff
I'm guessing the last one is the correct one, do I delete the contents or can I delete the folder itself? _________________ It's not the winning, its the taking apart |
