Yes, the most boring of topics even invented.
I'm having seriously annoying problems with forwarding my ports and letting my skins show. I have authenticated my account, and even rang the Zoom (router) helpline for assistance in setting the ports up...
The game is enabled in the firewall settings and all the p2p settings have been enabled in the TMN configuration setting!
So I type the port test addy in...
'Error! Port 2350 does not appear to be open'
'Error! Port 3450 does not appear to be open'
I don't know what else to do! |

Hammer, preferably `sledge`, running start, about 5 meter`s, hammer high above head,
run, swing, hit router, all ports will open and the road to salvation shall be seen.

this is on help website if it`s helps?
Also have u been in configure/advanced/network??
You need to configure or deactivate your firewall if you have one (at least open the port 2350 in TCP and UDP).
Sometimes, Windows XP users forget they activated their default firewall. It is configured in local network connexion properties -> TCP/IP properties -> advanced, then Options -> TCP/IP filtering -> Properties.
Zone Alarm users must launch the game in windowed mode the first time they connect to Internet to allow TrackMania to use the connexion.
The « BitDefender » software enters in conflict with the game. You can either uninstall it or upgrade it to version 7.1, or install the game in one of the following folders (in lower case): avx, mgui, rav7, ravwin8, sweep. _________________ Never underestimate the power of stupidity. |

your totally barking up the wrong tree. As stated many times ports do not need forwarding or opening for the sharing of skins. the p2p connection is with the server only and is initiated from your machine. Thus as long as windows firewall allows TMN to talk to the internet the communications on those ports will work fine.
The ports are listed and will require forwarding however IF YOU RUN A SERVER. this allows everyone to connect to the server to retrieve data from the servers cache.....
The sharing of skins is a faulty and thankless task that sometimes works.... and sometimes doesn't. I have changed no settings in the last six months but experience times when I can neither download others skins or share my own. The reason for this is the health of the central Nadeo server that allows or blocks you from sharing skins based on your accounts authentification as they call it. Similar problems occur with mods. |
