I believe that's another way of saying Christmas, often used in America. _________________

Firstly, Merry Christmas All!
Secondly - What???
Everywhere else i've been uses 'Vacation' as the word for what we say as 'Holiday'. But im confused, so ignore what i just said as its probably got nothing to do with anything |

Ok, I'm going to confuse the matter completely here. In my experience, a holiday is what you go on when you're sick of the daily grind and want to go somewhere else. Christmas is just Christmas, not holidays or anything else. _________________

mot people i believe get few days off around xmas and news years, i know my old job i left work on 23rd and didnt have to return till 3rd or 4th...loved working in the offices in the council >_> as boring as it got sometimes...joyjoy..
so yeah it was like a holiday, for me, for retail staff its killer. _________________

What they teach us Dutch people here is this (well, at least thats what I learnt)
In England, the holidays are the weeks off when you're lazy and not doing anything, like during the summer.
And in USA a 'holiday' is just a day out, like a saturday, to some amusement park or whatever, and those weeks off are 'vacation'
And in NL it's called vakantie |

and what WE learned in germany is...^^
Holidays are the days you get off work/school etc.
and if you're on vacation, then you left your home and went to another place where you spend your holidays in a hotel or sth.
*edit*: what i think Pepper ment by "What are holidays" though is, that he hasn't had any for a long time and doesn't remember how holidays feel like.. just an exaggerated way of expressing that he hasn't had holidays for a long time |

Good point, I think we are perhaps digging a bit deep here. _________________
