I thought it was how many ladder points you've scored on our server, what it says at least. _________________

I can't be the ladder points.
I have ~10K ladder points (ranked ~24K now) and according to the stats thing I'd have 50K points. |

ok I'll post the formula when i dig it out.
it is based on the server logs going back MONTHS and over 200MB of data.
It takes into account race wins, positions and track times compared to the authors validation time. It is EXTREMELY complicated but does give a good idea as to who has been racing well and against whom.
I am thinking of switching the server records accross to aseco...... but not sure yet when this might happen as we need to make some adjustments... just to let you know whats in the pipeline.
FOUND IT...
Q. How points calculates?
A. Points calculates with formula:
P = sum(pi)
pi = (n-x)*k + m
k = (t - x + 1)/t
where:
P - total player's points (sum of points for each track)
pi - points for one track
n - total count of players that finish current track
x - occupied by player place on current track
m - points for medal on current track
k - coefficient of "occupied place"
t - total count of players
Players that finish with same time get same points
hope that answers your questions. |

So driving alone is pretty much useless, considering (n-x)*k will be so much lower
So it's saying that, even though I got some nice recs, I need to start actually beating people while racing. |

Yesterday I found myself wondering why after changing my text colour from green to those found along the side of a UOP shadow, I was still being shown as green. I've realised that the stats thing hasn't picked up my nickname change. _________________

Isnt the monitoring section real time?
Or, are you talking about the records, and not the monitoring bit? |

Top player in both servers!!!
But from up here, theres only one way too go
And the disent (sp) to the bottom has already started. I have about 25 ish pages of work to do by the 4th of december, which in normal circumstances, i could do...but, internal exams start on the 5th of december.
So, i might be on vent occassionally, but not on tmn
But i can still be here to spam the forums!!!! |

Thank god
As for the records, wouldn't it be cool to have the server ranks listed somewhere, like in Aseco. I'd be interested in that cause I have quite some recs, but so do other guys like Bboy, Steve, Tom, noes, etc |

To be honest , i think the stats should only be on race wins , or how many wins per race etc.
as it is laps and not time attack so.... |

Maybe both?
I also think it's such a shame the server ignores your time for the records when you drive alone.. I was 10 (!) seconds under the rec and I get ignored.. |

Driving on your own, with infinite restarts and no pressure, is not the same as going for a record racing against others. Perhaps you should race offline and post your recs on TMX (I'm not sure if you are allowed to record an online rec and post it on TMX - but I think not). |

The server has been moved to Lnux. Probably because its alot better than windows for running servers, and its free.
So, things will gradually start coming back i guess, as mad sorts each thing out, and make sure they each work instead of just chucking everything back on, and crashing everything.

tmos sucks sorry guys but it really does. I appreciate that it provides absolute information overload and the server statuses but we can do better.
I have not reinstalled it at present because the webserver and game server are now two seperate machines. tmos will need reconfiguring and fiddling with and it's a poor excuse for a program as far as I can see.
See the post in help and lets do something better... |
