I have a brother in law who is also postman !!!, he delivered this personally to Mads mail box  , just a bit of work on the side, so remember, you ain't seen him rite

Postmen/women ask for a bit more moolah, the post office says no, the postpeople stay in bed and I usually order something over the internet two days before the strike in a perfect demonstration of Sod's law. This time however I somehow ordered my PS2 controller adapter about a week early.
I've nothing against post office staff by the way, they usually do a good job and when it comes to mail order I'm very impatient anyway. Annoying, yes, but I suppose it doesn't cause as much trouble for UK industries as wiping out the country's entire caffeine supply would...

| I can't help thinking they are shooting themselves in their collective feet. Ten years ago they could have done this with impunity, but now there are rivals out there to whom business and private customers will turn, and possibly not go back. As soon as people miss their benefits / cheques / ordered goods / tickets etc. because of a postal strike, they lose support. It's almost as if they want the PO to collapse. It's telling that even the unions themselves are split on this one. In fact, with the Northern Rock crisis just gone, it seems like humankind's short-sighted lemming tencencies are alive and kicking! |
