I was 3rd in the second race and I'm not elite!
Tiering doesnt work as you still get the slowest people in each tier losing out.
I still don't understand how we can justify punishing "better" drivers anyway. If I beat someone who is "elite" because they were handicapped it seems ridiculous and I don't feel any more rewarded than if I finished behind them after starting at the same time.
If people are getting bored with gps why not vary the types of races which are in them to get some originality? Would anybody ever want a dirt gp for example just to mix it up a bit? |

Too much buggage in dirt, it'd drive (pardon the pun) people crazy. If it was a dirt track without a single jump/bump then perhaps. That'd be boring tho
Experimentals needs to stay clear too. The harder every track is, the more you handicap the slowest players. Seems stupid to spend all this time on handicap systems to aid the slower players if we're going to race mentalist tracks they can't do.
I totally agree about feeling of reward in a handicap. _________________ Steam ID: munkhi

It would also be a lot simpler to police.
In a way it could make you push harder and possibly make more mistakes, because you'd know that merely beating someone isn't enough |
I agree it would be a lot simpler and very easy to use, however it does make the racing less important (to me anyway). I feel if someone finishes ahead of someone on the track then that should be that.
So I guess I'm opposed to your suggestion but I don't really dislike it.

We've had a talk and with the cooperation of Johnny Walker and Jack Daniels we've reached a compromise. DaMadman while he is on holiday has left it to me to come up with a solution.
Your bribery and toadying might sway me _________________

Leave it as is mate...there arent any other solutions which are fair enough to everyone racing to replace the simple system. (plus it'll piss me, and others, off majorly if the races keep getting mucked about with). Not suggesting this place is a democracy or anything, but i'm pretty certain that more people would vote for keeping it the same than for any of the ideas put forward up to now
The gps vary from season to season through new tracks, new racers, changes in ability etc anyway.
However the points system does need an over-haul with an extension so that finishers who are further behind can score points (especially as there are more racers than ever this time round). But can we please not start multiplying them by the sum of the total divided by the sum of the cube root of the exponential square difference based on ability...I'd like to be able to compare my performance against the whole of the field and not just the rest of the people in whatever group I'm in! |

Good point, he is entitled to an opinion though even if he hasn't raced many gp's.
What I will say is that we should maybe be looking at when the teams are formed those who have poor attendances from this season are all put in the same team if they want to play next season then they aren't affecting anyones points. I doubt we'll have poor attendances though unless folks spit the dummy about any changes that are made. _________________

why would they affect anyone's points?
If they have poor attendances, then they don't show up very often.
A team has 3players, so if 2 of them are available, then there's no problem.. |
