Tim I have done a little deal with Primary Target.
If we stick some PT banners on the ad hordings on the tracks they will instantly upgrade it to 50 slots.
Dont give them too much, because I know we can get them to 100 slots once we have them on line.
Get some gfx off feltz and get them on the tracks then take a screen shot or 2 and send them to him and bingo 50 slot server.
Hope you all like the little deal.
Regards

Is upping the slots a bad or good idea, a few I have spoken to are not keen, so we can leave it as it is if you want people
Any comments would help |

Well from my side of things, I like to play with the other cars on and in the last week of playing or so, even having only 25 cars in the server everyone was jumping around every so often.
This distracted the hell out of me so I had to turn the cars off.
I'm presuming the Challenge server is on the same box as the Pro server as the cars were jumping all over the place during the GP on Thursday too.
If the bandwidth for the server was to get boosted as well then I'm all for it because providing 10 more slots when the server bandwidth is already choked seems a bit silly to me. |

The Pro and Challenge run on seperate servers hundreds of miles apart. Grndl's experience of similar conditions on both would indicate problems on a larger scale than any individual is having. _________________

haha, and you can play COD4? you must be joking
i think upping the slots is a bad idea. we had this discussion on the RFR server too. we all voted yes. now the server has at least 40 racers at European daytime, so it's no doing racing there. it's just my experience i have with doing a thing like that.
you should just poll it Belial. |

oh alright thats my theory shot to **** then. :) I'll try to minimise all the background apps I've got running when I'm playing TM then. |

I find, when playing on high number servers that are full or say forty people on, i have late starts every race, when the pro server is nearly full the same happens, i don`t know if my computer is trying to cache the other cars or what, but i do notice a greater difference in loading times,
If i was to vote, it would be NO also. _________________ Never underestimate the power of stupidity. |

I personally reckon the number of slots we have now is fine, any more and late starting and lag may be the result. The RFR raid was plagued by these problems, although I know they don't use warmup. _________________

i even proposed to do that on the RFR server too, cause it was so satisfying to me on the Mad Laps server. guess what, they rejected. |
