I`ve just cut all the fat off the server rotation of tracks, there is in total 745 tracks, 404 of which are nations tracks, now to sort out some rotation lists _________________ Never underestimate the power of stupidity. |

Well done Dan. A fair old effort to get through that lot. _________________ Mostly to be found in Forza Horizon 4 now.

it takes the controller ages to load the list on refresh lately, which shows how bloated it is. Controller is offline at the moment btw

Stripped out 500 duplicate tracks, refiled loads and got rid of the GP25 races as there not needed anymore. Am trying to think of a good way to file them into rotations, maybe a folder for each rotation, but, the tracks won`t be in "builder" order; making it difficult to use in events.
Damadman has suggested two or more controllers, but this would mean shutting down the server whilst the other controller is loaded.
Any suggestions? _________________ Never underestimate the power of stupidity. |

P.s, adding a track to the rotation usually boots the server up the bum _________________ Never underestimate the power of stupidity. |

my suggestion was we split the tracks accross the two servers.. half and half and control each server with a different controller... that way it'll be much faster. yes it's a hash but I don't have the time to say boo let alone rejig the poor old failing code at the moment..... |

Nice work Dan, sorry I wasn't here to help . Of all the weeks I could've gone to Wales, my mates chose this one...
In normal use it'd be much quicker changing playlist by just going to the track list and pulling tracks for a specific playlist from one dedicated folder. I see the case for having builder folders though, as finding tracks for events obviously gets more awkward unless the tracks are selected in advance and you therefore know what playlists to look for them in. Usually there isn't time to plan, 8pm on Saturday rolls around and tracks are selected there and then, so to cut a long story short two controllers for the same server probably is the best option for the time being. _________________

1: Tracks still need validation checking
2: Tracks in advance are a pain to check early (maybe easier as i have all the tracks now)
3: Two controllers, who changes them about??

1. Happy to do validation checks, but can you remind me please what we're checking for? One lap presumably (which counts out 99% of TMN tracks), but also that respawns all work fine, no sign problems etc.
2. You're right but at the moment I'm not sure what the alternative is. I'll have a think but the best alternative I've thought of so far is uploading tracks twice, once into an author folder and once into a playlist. Also not practical.
3. Not quite sure how having two controllers would work altogether to be completely honest. _________________

Back for now as I've got some serious computer issues and don't know whether my pc will turn on the next morning , some problems with the power supply I suppose.
You could send me some tracks to check for validation, respawns and stuff, I'd like to help. _________________ long days and pleasant nights! |

The Track list has been refreshed (thanks Mad), Pro has a small selection on, Eek has all the laps tracks on and points has all the A-B tracks on, This is a bit of a long rotation, but the good news is, the test is going well, the controller is still functioning well. Have fun!
I`ll up the new tracks tonight. _________________ Never underestimate the power of stupidity. |
