Any experience?

I tried the upgrade today and it killed my desktop completely.....windows completely knackered. Spent all evening reinstalling.

Put it on a fresh laptop install the other day no problems... The desktop install was not old however so very miffed.

My email updates from PC Advisor are always banging on about this,
http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/news/index.cfm?newsid=13122 is a good article to start with, links throughout.

well, I've never installed norton on this machine but the line half way down that says "MS said it would put a block on AMD based machines downloading SP3 from its update site" was quite revealing.........

By the way I'm still reloading.....

I've installed it on 2 desktops and 2 laptops at home now - all seem to be fine....
Except, funnily enough, my TMUF desktop - I get random crashes of the game but not sure if thats related to XP SP3 or not....

ok, it was not the service pack exactly, that was what killed it but it looks like a dodgy memory stick was the real culprit........ had to strip the machine and bits are still on test.
