Has anyone tried it with the 3D Spectacles yet? I don't know where I can get some ... I thought about nicking a pair off the front of a kids' magazine but then I stood in front of the mirror and took a long, hard look at myself and I didn't like what I saw. I realised they would be too small.

They were giving free pairs out last week at work, advertising a future acheivement thing or something (I didn't pay much attention). So there's a pair on every desk around where I sit, I'll make sure I nick one of them and try them when I get home.

Damn glad you did take a long hard look at yourself Laughing

I've been working on a track where the 3D part might be quite handy Wink

I cannot see in 3D as i have a lazy eye, the eye/brain doesn`t register out of my right eye fast enough, it`s not fair, but i`ll live with it

Yes, I've tried the Red/Green "Anaglyph" glasses. The 3D quality is quite subtle and small, but the effect of looking a complete divit is huge!

3D via red/green colour seperation is more prominent if the two primary colours are drawn further apart, and they're pretty close if you look at TM with the feature enabled. So if you don't mind viewing colours all messed about by the coloured filters, and looking like an escape mental patient, give them a try....but watch that frame rate! Graphics have to be drawn twice, with extra processing too....so it's not going to run at really high frame rates.

The best effect of the whole lot (and with the glasses on, when no one's looking) as you switch it on and off...is....wait for it.....

The timer bar along the bottom of the screen is clearly and markedly closer than the car and the track. So it's hovering a little bit closer than the rest. The worst part is the blue "3...2....1.......GO!". Being light blue it's neither red or green, so plays merry havoc with your eye to brain interface! Smile

The idea that spectacles that bring about the onlsaught of sex is the holy grial of many a geek and nerd.

Now where did I store my gross weight of Lynx deoderant...

Anything colourful you shove on your cabbage, no matter if it smells of teenage desperation or not, does the opposite of anything sexual...for me anyway! Very Happy

gord, not sure if you've discovered it yet but you can set the severity of the 3d effect.... in the menus is a slider that defaults to 50% I think and you can increase the 3d tonnes by sliding it up. maybe on the ingame menu I can't remember.

Unfortunately this is useless to me at the moment without any 3d specs.

Yes I discovered that, but oddly my slider's set to 100% (position is in the middle, which might look like 50%) by default, where the effect's not very good. I tried raising it higher, and at 200% (max) it offered a much better 3D effect. The trouble I had was the frame was so low trying to click and drag the slider was almost impossible (I actually thought the mouse batteries were flat!), and it took quite a few tries to move...but it did work eventually

Press Esc, then there's either an Advanced menu, or a 3D "sex" button (for Bunsen)! The slider position didn't appear to affect the frame rate, as the game needs twice as much GPU/CPU regrdless if it's 1% or 200% whenever the 3D is enabled. The biggest thing to avoid if anyone is trying it, is to disable any water geometric effects, and use only "PC3 Low" shader or less. This disables the rippling water and makes the grass completely flat, as both are the the main power sponges the game has (TMU players should also avoid the new "Complex Trees" at all costs).
